The State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday organised various programmes to mark the birth anniversary of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay in the city.
The statue of Pt Deendayal situated at Telibandha Chowk was garlanded by the BJP leaders and workers and a programme was organised at the district office situated at Ekatma Parisar to remember him.
While addressing the gathering at the Telibandha square, Chairman of Raipur Development Authority (RDA), Sanjay Shrivastava said Pt Deendayal had given a direction to the politics in the country.
The party is organising various programmes to mark the birth centenary of Pt Deendayal and is making efforts to extend the vision of him to the people, he said.
In a statement the State President of the BJP, Dharam lal Kaushik said that it was due to the efforts of Pt Deendayal that the party has succeeded to reach the destination it was ought to be.
Remembering and paying homage to Pt Deendayal, the State BJP President said the seed of nationalism was sown by him and now it has been nourished into a huge tree.
