Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday told district Collectors to make necessary arrangements to protect paddy procured from farmers from untimely rains.
Followed by warnings of cloudy weather and possible rains, the Chief Minister told them to cover the procured paddy with cap-cover, tarpaulin and by other means.
At present, the government is procuring paddy from farmers through co-operative societies.
Every possible effort must be made to protect the paddy, the Chief Minister said. Meanwhile, the metrological department has forecast that there may be light showers in one or places in Chhattisgarh in the next 48 hours.
