Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said the government was going to resume the probe into the Indira Priyadarshini Mahila Nagrik Sahkari Bank scam after a recent go ahead from the High Court in Bilaspur.
Baghel tweeted that the prime accused and bank manager Umesh Sinha has named then Chief Minister Raman Singh as well as his (Raman’s) cabinet colleagues for involvement in the scam.
“Sinha was the Manager of Indira Priyadarshini Bank that went bust after a multi-crore scam was unearthed in 2006. He and the directors of the bank were arrested," the chief minister said.
Baghel said: "Sinha has claimed that the bank officials paid hefty amounts to Raman Singh and his ministers including then Home Minister Ramvichar Netam."
