Staff Reporter

Revenue Minister Prem Prakash Pandey admitted in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday that complaints have been received regarding alleged encroachment of land of two forest farmers by KSK Power Plant in Janjgir-Champa district.

Replying to a question raised by leader of Opposition TS Singhdeo, Pandey said that the investigation on the issue is pending with the Tehsildar of Akaltara. Action will be taken according to the outcome of the investigation, he said. Singhdeo said that in the reply, he has been informed that the administration received the information about alleged encroachment of one acre land by the company in latiya village on January 12, 2015 and about encroachment of land in Amora village on January 11, 2014.

But according to his information, the complainant had brought the matter to the knowledge of concerned SDO in 2011, he said. Singhdeo alleged that the company is being sheltered by the Government. Pandey clarified that due to fresh map of the area prepared in 2013 there is a confusion about the details (khasra) of the aforesaid lands. Old records are being searched and once things are clear, action will be taken if encroachment is found to be deliberate. Singhdeo asked the Minister whether the issue will be resolved before the monsoon season. Pandey assured to resolve the issue at the earliest.
