He stated that in woman related atrocities cases, immediate action should be taken.
Awasthi said, “If the complainant or victim approaches me, then it means the victim has not been heard properly. Each police station must have woman desk, which should be constituted with immediate effect.”
The DGP also instructed to take stern action against beer bars and pubs which remain open till late night. He said action should be taken against drunken driving as well as against over speeding and over loading vehicles.
Police patrolling should be increased, he suggested.
He laid emphasis on impact policing so that it is model for police of other districts. SHOs should interact with people and take action against criminals to instill fear among them.
