The preparations for half-marathon-2013 scheduled on January 14, were reviewed during a meeting held in Khle Bhawan. Principal Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare department RP Mandal chaired the meeting on Thursday.
Notably the half-marathon was earlier scheduled on December 16 however after considering work load of important works immediately after state assembly elections the date was shifted to January 14 the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. During the meeting the Principal Secretary issued directions for appointment of nodal officers, identification of the runway, ensuring participation of school students, transportation system, availing services from physical instructors, making of registration centres, arranging water, electricity and publicity for the event.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Balraj Mehta, Director Sports and Youth Welfare Department Jitendra Shukla, Commissioner Raipur Municipal Corporation Narendra Dugga and others.
