The School Education Department on Thursday resumed normal functioning of the Kamla Nehru Pre-Matric Tribal Girls Hostel at Jyotipur in Chhattisgarh's Gaurela district.
On Tuesday, a Class 9 student, Saraswati Baiga, had urged Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to open the hostel so that she can go to school regularly. The school is situated around 20 km from her village.
Baghel assured her it will be done from September 2. The girl students promptly thanked the Chief Minister on Thursday.
