The counting of postal ballots in the district will be held an hour earlier than the counting of votes from EVMs at 8 pm on December 8 for the just concluded Assembly polls in the State.
This was informed to the representatives of political parties and counting agents attending a meeting chaired by Additional Collector D K Singh here on Friday.
He said that counting of votes for the three Assembly segments in the district would be carried out in the 14 tables to be arranged for each of the constituencies.
Every table would have a Counting Supervisor, Counting Assistant and a Micro Observer, Singh said.
He said that after every round of counting, the agents would need to sign on the counting document as a procedure.
The duties of the polling teams would be determined on December 8 at 5 am using a random mechanism in the presence of an Observer.
The public agent deployed on duty would not have the permission to move around in the Counting Centre and would have to station himself in the table assigned to him, Singh said.
