A Sector Officer besides 15 other polling officials were suspended for alleged dereliction of duty during conduct of polling here on Thursday, in the third and last phase of polls in the State.
District Collector and Returning Officer Ms Ritu Sen issued the order for their suspension. According to an official Press release, Deputy Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department Fardi Nand Tigga was the Sector Officer who was suspended. The official was appointed as ‘Sector Officer’ for Anandgarth Kedam, Bhkurma, lalpur and Kedma polling booths coming under Ambikapur Assembly segment.
Tigga, according to the Returning Official allegedly failed to report to the EC about the arrival of polling teams in his Sector on April 23 and Mock Poll on April 24 which amounted to serious lapse from his party and was suspended with immediate effect.
