Political parties to hit street for 'special status' to Jharkhand

PNS

The AJSU party is all set to go ahead with the Statewide bandh called for pressing the demand of special status for Jharkhand on Sunday. The party has urged its supporters to make bandh successful while urging them to not disrupt essential services during the bandh which is supported by the JVM.

The party has urged business community, bus owners, schools and colleges to make the bandh successful. While addressing mediapersons AJSU party leader Chandraprakash Chaudhary said, "It's time to make the Central Government understand that Jharkhand will not sit idle on the question of special status."

The party maintained that the Centre's indifferent attitude over the issue has left the party with no option but to come out on streets. The party has received support from other political parties also.

Notably, considering the magnitude of bandh after other parties jumping on the protest bandwagon, the Ranchi police have issued an order to make deployments at all important squares and other measures to deal with untoward incidents. "We are ready with a quick-response-team to deal with eventualities," maintained Ranchi SSP Prabhat Kumar.
