PM should fulfill promises in Budget, says Congress

Staff Reporter

The Congress in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill his election promises made to the people through the Union Budget to be presented on Wednesday.

PCC chief Mohan Markam said that among the four main promises made in 2014 was one for bringing down inflation in 100 days.

The others were for generating 2 crore employment per year, doubling the income of farmers by 2022 and depositing Rs 15 lakh in every one's bank account by bringing back black money from foreign countries, he said.

“Now, Modi is going to complete his second tenure. If he does not fulfill his promises now, when will he do so?” the Congress leader asked in a statement.

Markam said it was time now to control the skyrocketing prices and provide relief to common people.
