PM security breach a conspiracy: BJP

Staff Reporter

The BJP said on Wednesday that the breach of security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Punjab was a conspiracy.

This was clear as the state government and senior police officials had not acted on the regular inputs provided by the local police, former Ministers and MLAs Brijmohan Agrawal and Rajesh Munat said.

A sting operation has exposed that the breach of security during his Punjab visit was a pre-planned strategy, they said.

The Chief Minister had earlier stated that he was in quarantine. But in the evening, he appeared before the media claiming there was no breach of security.

Even the Blue Book manual was not followed, he said.

BJP leaders asked the Congress to tender an apology on the whole episode.

Modi’s cavalcade was struck on a flyover in Punjab on January 5 for nearly 20 minutes due to farmers blocking the flyover. He was scheduled to address a rally in Ferozepur.
