Plantation drive in Gauthans during rainy season

Staff Reporter

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced that saplings of shade and fruit-bearing trees will be planted in all gauthans in the state during the upcoming rainy season.

He made the announcement on Friday evening.

Baghel reviewed the development of Rural Industrial Parks (RIPA) in gauthans and the progress of the Chhattisgarh Socio-Economic Survey.

He directed officers to work expeditiously towards setting up a minimum of one dung paint manufacturing unit in each development block.

He also instructed the officials to establish market linkage of institutional sales centers of goods produced in RIPA with major business organizations.

Baghel said the gauthans connected with RIPA should be developed as multi-activity centers and families with traditional businesses should be encouraged to participate in the economic activities.

Instructions have been given to complete the skill development training of self-help groups associated with RIPA at the earliest.

Now, special gram sabhas will be organized in villages from May 5 to 15 to take up claims and objections regarding the socio-economic survey.
