Advancement in camera has made the technical operations of camera like finding correct focus and true exposure easier. All one has to care about is the artistic part of the photography, expressed renowned photographer Raghu Rai while interacting with reporters on Saturday. “A photographer should be creative and listen to his heart not mind. Several time a while listening to mind various moment are left which otherwise captured could become a great photograph,” Raghu Rai said.
He suggested photographers to get involved in the event they are covering and try to capture different moods of person involved in the incent rather than just plain recording of events. “If one is covering a political event then they should try to capture the mood of any leader involved in the event. The leader is sad or happy of curious while talking to others. Just plain photograph of people sitting in a round table is killing of the photograph, which should be avoided,” Raghu said.
Describing his inclination toward black and white photography Raghu said that things could be quite comfortably controlled in black and white photography. In color photo one has to control each and every color being captured in camera which at times is challenging. “Profession should be like religion and business should be kept away from it, the veteran photographer opined.” He was in Raipur to participate in the Raipur International Film Festival.
