Chhattisgarh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Tuesday endorsed the need for development and cleanliness in rural areas of the state. It is an important subject which should be given top priority.
He was participating in the Governing Council meeting of the department at Mahanadi Bhavan, Atal Nagar in Raipur, an official communication said.
The Minister held detailed discussions with the Janpad members and public representatives of local bodies for new proposals for infrastructure development in villages. Presentations were made on the projects. He told them to ensure cleanliness in rural areas.
Participating in the Governing Body of Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), the Minister had detailed discussion with the departmental officials. The key issues taken up were community toilets, solid and liquid waste management, and cleanliness in tourist spots.
