A two-day Chhattisgarh-level traditional tribal sports event, Khel Madai, was held at the Swami Vivekanand Stadium here to mark the World Indigenous Day.
Over 700 from across the state participated in the event organised for the special backward tribes, which concluded on Monday.
The events included archery, gulel, gilli danda, fugdi, gedi race, sack race, bhaura (spinning top), needle-thread race, rassakashi (tug of war), pot race, three leg race, and boating among others. Archery was a centre of attraction.
The event was held at two levels: for age 14-18 years while the second was open. Men and women events were held, an official communiqué said.
This was the first grand sports event organised at the state level under the supervision of Tribal Welfare Minister Premsai Singh.
