Over 60,000 residents of as many as 24 Gram Panchayats falling under insurgency infested Narayanpur development block and 15 wards of Narayanpur Municipal Council have enrolled for receiving Aadhaar card in a short span of five months, officials stated.
As a part of the State Government’s continuous efforts to enroll every citizen to get their 12 digit Individual identification number, a week-long ‘Aadhaar Card’ camp in Kurusnar village of Abujhmad area is being held from November 11.
District Collector, TS Sonwani informed that a number of people are turning up at the camp to enroll themselves for Aadhaar card as it’s an important tool and serves as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India.
“The people are self motivated. We are not forcing the villagers to visit any other Gram Panchayat to enroll for Aadhaar card. Instead, the district administration has decided to erect as many as 54 such camps in different Gram Panchayats to facilitate the villagers” he said.
He said that the district administration has set a goal to complete the ongoing Aadhaar card enrollment work by March, 2015.
District Health Officer, Hl Dhurv informed that presently, Aadhaar card enrollment camps are being run in Matala, Mahimagwadi and Kukadajhor village of Narayanpur development block.
