More than 4.73 lakh beneficiaries are availing the benefits of monthly pension under Social Security Pension Scheme conducted by State Government's Social Welfare Department.
Under this scheme, destitute senior citizens of age 60 years or above, destitute widow or divorced women of age above 50 years, destitute disable person of age 6-14 years, school students or disable children belonging to BPl families, and destitute disable person of age above 14 years are provided monthly pensionof Rs 200 each.
Officials of Social Welfare Department informed that under Social Security Pension Scheme, about 22,191 beneficiaries of Raipur district, 24,127 beneficiaries of Baloda-Bazar district, 7,940 beneficiaries of Gariaband district, 21,198 beneficiaries of Mahasamund district, 10, 679 beneficiaries of Dhamtari district, 24,168 beneficiaries of Durg district, 15,418 beneficiaries of Balod district, 17,137 of Bemetara district, 19,753 of Rajnandgaon district, 13,082 of Kabeerdham district, 7,717 of Kondagaon district, 4,900 South Bastar (Dantewada) district, 13,146 of Bastar district, 3,365 of Sukma districts, 11,589 of North Bastar (Kanker).
2,236 beneficiaries of Bijapur district, 3,290 of Narayanpur district, 50,558 of Bilaspur district, 15,874 of Mungeli district, 25,278 of Korba district, 43,434 of Janjgir-Champa district, 29,379 of Raigarh district, 13,241 of Jashpur district, 21,092 of Sarguja district, 11,784 beneficiaries of Balrampur district, 15, 474 of Surajpur district, and 26,013 beneficiaries of Koriya district are being provided monthly pension under Social Security Pension Scheme.
