The BJP on Wednesday opposed the tabling of the Chhattisgarh Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Medical College Durg (Acquisition) Bill, 2021 on the third day of the Monsoon session of the Assembly.
Just after the Speaker allowed Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo to table the bill, Brijmohan Agrawal (BJP) alleged that the bill is flawed. Once tabled and passed, it will set a wrong precedent in the legislature proceedings. He said the fundamental rights of the employees working in the college have not been protected as there are no provisions for them in the bill. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ravindra Choubey said the opposition members can bring in amendments, which can be incorporated after a discussion. The BJP members raised objections asking if the existing employees will be retained. Amid the din, Singh Deo tabled the bill.
