Staff Reporter

Proving to be Good Samaritans, the nursing staff at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur, have come forward to take care of two toddlers of a woman, who has tested positive for COVID-19 and is being treated at the hospital.

Official source in AIIMS said the children—one, a 3-month old and the other, a 22-month old—who were with their mother, have, however, tested negative for the virus.

Earlier, a maternal uncle of the children was called by the AIIMS authorities, but as soon as he reached Raipur, his test report for the Covid-19, turned out to be positive, the official said.

Later, the woman’s mother was called to look after the  children, but on Wednesday, she too tested positive for Covid-19.

Considering the situation of the family, the nursing staff at the premier hospital, themselves have came forward and are now looking after the two toddlers till further arrangement is made.
