NTPC Sipat starts holding regular health check-up camps

Staff Reporter

The NTPC Sipat under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has launched regular health check-up camps from Monday to Friday in all project affected villages.

In the health check-up camps a doctors' team provides free health check-up and medicines as per the diagnosis done on the patients. They also help people to develop their health knowledge and make them aware about the simple methods to keep themselves free from seasonal health problems, an NTPC press reelase issued here stated on Monday.

It may be mentioned that the Mobile Medical Service of NTPC Sipat was flagged-off by Arup Roy Choudhary, CMD, NTPC limited on  July 20, 2011 during his visit to Sipat. Since then this doorstep medical service has been benefitting more than 4736 nearby people. This year-long door-step health care practice has brought  great relief to those people who are residing in the remote locations. An essential service like medical treatment was more expensive earlier but NTPC's free mobile medical service is like a boon for the old and children who can get it at their door step now.

Besides Mobile Medical Service of NTPC Sipat holds other health camps, in association with Chhattisgarh Health Department. It had been holding Family Welfare camps, Hydrocele surgery camps, Eye care treatment camps and blood donation camps. In Hydrocele surgery camp organised on March 20 to 24 this year, 63 patients got free surgical treatment.
