Strongly opposing the decision of Raman Singh-led BJP Government in Chhattisgarh to outsource teachers in high school and higher secondary schools, dozens of NSUI workers on Sunday staged violent demonstration at the office of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE).
Creating high-voltage drama against the Government’s decision to outsource teachers for filling large number of vacant teaching posts across the State, NSUI workers staged demonstration outside CGBSE office, which eventually turned violent.
The demonstration turned violent when police personnel deployed at the office on law and order duty prevented NSUI workers from entering the campus CGBSE following which they started shouting slogans and also broke the main gate. Breaking the security arrangements made by police to avert any untoward incident during the protest, NSUI workers stormed into CGBSE office and wrecked tables and other furniture at the office to register their opposition against the Government’s decision following which police arrested them.
With outsourcing, the BJP Government is trying to recruit their party workers and RSS volunteers in teaching posts, alleged Durga College President Shantanu Jha, adding that the move is going to deny employment opportunity to local youth.
Instead of providing employment opportunity to youth, BJP Government has initiated move to steal the available prospect, said Jha.
In connection with act done by NSUI workers at CGBSE office, police have arrested NSUI State president Akash Sharma, general secretary Bhavesh Shukla, Amit Sharma, Shantanu Jha and Gaurav Sharma under section 147 (rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of Indian Penal Code (IPS) and other sections, said Kotwali City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anshuman Singh Sisodia.
The arrested NSUI workers were produced in a local court from where they were sent to judicial remand
till October 16, added
