Now the cooks of midday meal schemes running in the primary and pre-middle schools of Chhattisgarh will get Rs 1,200 per month as honorarium. The State Government has decided to increase the honorarium of midday meal cooks from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200 per month.
With the decision of the state government 1,05,715 cooks will be benefited. According to an official press statement issued here on Saturday, the school education department has made a provision of Rs 20 crore in the budget for the financial year 2013-14 for the increase of honorarium of the cooks.
School education minister Brijmohan Agrawal said that the midday meal scheme was going on in 37,710 primary and 16,572 pre-primary schools in the State.
