Nine inmates of a rented observation home escaped on Thursday after tying three staffers with ropes in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district.
Preliminary findings say two of the minors asked the caretaker to open their locked room as they wanted to go to the washroom, Dantewada PRO Varun Nagesh said.
When the two were on their way back to the room, they held the caretaker and then seven others came out of the room.
All nine tied the caretaker, a Home Guard and one more staffer with ropes and fled by snatching the keys from them.
Of the nine, five inmates are from Sukma and two each from Dantewada and Bijapur districts.
