nChief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who also holds mining department, in a reply to a queries raised in state assembly on Friday by MLAs Dhanendra Sahu and Raman Singh, said in sand mining areas clusters will be identified.
The identified clusters will be then auctioned, and then the mining lease will be allocated. The implementation of this mode of allocation is under process.
Sahu had sought to know about sand mining contract, process adopted and whether government was introducing any new policy for the sand mining. Raman Singh sought details of diversion in present mining process and details of the policy.
Baghel in his reply stated no sand mine has been earmarked for mining contract. The sand mining areas, cluster will be identified and then lease will be allocated after auction. There is no time-limit prescribed for completion of the new process.
In reply to the query of Raman Singh, CM stated that present system of mining through Panchayat/civic bodies will be replaced by a process of identification of sand mining areas, which will be auctioned before allocation. The implementation of the new process is in progress.
