'Naxal organisation working on tribal stronghold plan'

SR

Maoist organisation is working on increasing their stranglehold in tribal areas even if the condition of tribal people in Bastar has gone bad to worse with distrust for the Government growing day by day.

In this scenario how the Government could earn their trust, or could provide them the opportunity of self rule under the framework of the Constitution is of paramount importance to calm down their temper.

Taking advantage of the delay on the part of Government to take a bold initiative for solving this vexing issue, the insurgents are realising their goal of creating a red corridor.

Talking to The Pioneer, former Central Minister and important tribal leader, Arvind Netam said that Naxal outfits are working on their strategy to control the tribal areas from Andhra Pradesh to Bastar and in this scenario Central as well as State Governments will have to think over solving the issue seriously.

Netam said that on the strength of police force no movement could be suppressed. Governments will have to understand the social and cultural style of tribal society.

Along with the change in administration Government will have to think seriously over giving autonomy to this section of the society besides changes in the present administrative set up and identifying the priorities in the schemes prepared for them.

The extent of autonomy granted to them could solve the Naxal problem up to a greater extent, Netam added. He, however, said that in the democratic set up there was no place for violence.

Netam demanded that the Central Government rising above the party politics should call an all-party meeting to devise ways for solving this issue otherwise there would be no success on this front.

He said that the degree of attack on Congress convoy, in which more than two dozen of people were killed, shows the clear lapses on the part of the State Government. In this scenario, the Prime Minister should take the initiative seriously towards solving this issue vexing the state and the nation for decades.

Condemning the attack on Congress convoy and brutal murder of leaders as well as PSOs and villagers, Netam said that in the attack we have lost a number of talented and upcoming leaders.
