A tribal museum will be established to promote and preserve the tribal culture of Bastar region. Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram provided in-principle approval for the proposal made by State Minister for Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Kedar Kashyap during a meeting at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi.
Kashyap also demanded a 500 seat hostel in each block headquarter of Chhattisgarh for tribal children. Oram assured to consider the demand and expressed interest on visiting Chhattisgarh. Kashyap said that the proposed museum will be in the shape of a village and each and every dimension of tribal culture and art of the area will be displayed in a very artistic form in the museum. The Union Minister also assured of granting approval for proposed Tribal Research Institute in Chhattisgarh.
