Staff Reporter

Amid reports of an acute shortage of drinking water in some areas, the Minister in charge of Durg district, Mohammad Akbar, on Saturday told officials to make necessary arrangements to provide drinking water to people.

He was reviewing the work of the government department at a meeting through video conferencing.

Akbar took information about water connections under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation scheme and called for making available drinking water in areas of scarcity.

While reviewing the Godhan Scheme, the Minister called for planting Yashwat grass along with Napier grass in the grazing grounds of Gauthans (cowsheds).
