The Home Minister approved the proposal in a high-level meeting held in the Home Ministry in New Delhi.

On the occasion, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh made a detailed presentation to the Home Minister and other senior officials of the Ministry. Also present was Chhattisgarh Home Minister Ramsevak Paika and other senior officials of the Chhattisgarh Government.

Raman stated that if insurgency has to be wiped out, the battle has to be fought in Bastar. 'The battle is already being fought for overall development of Bastar', he added.
