Media is a guiding light of Police and it appreciates our good works as well as openly criticizes the wrong ones. It also plays a key role in curbing of Maoist menace, said Director General of Police D.M. Awasthi on Thursday.
Awasthi while interacting with the media persons at old Police Head Quarters (PHQ) at Civil Lines here, thanked the media persons for peaceful conduct of recently held Assembly polls in Maoist affected regions.
Along with security forces the credit also goes to media persons, he said.
Only security forces could not have controlled the Naxal menace effectively if media was not with it, he said while appreciating the contribution of media.
We are winning in the war against Maoists only because of support from the media persons, he said.
