Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Chairman and BJP State Secretary Sanjay Shrivastava on Sunday said that Raipur City Mayor Dr Kiranmayee Nayak has been unable to free the city from the grip of jaundice.

In a meeting of BJP Corporators’ team, held at the State BJP headquarters ‘Ekatm Parisar’ here on Sunday, to discuss the preparations for the RMC’s forthcoming general meeting, Shrivastava told the corporators that the main objective of the meeting held at the party office today with them was to discuss rising cases of jaundice in Raipur city.

He said that since last one-and-half months, people in many wards of the city were suffering from jaundice, but the Mayor did not go to all the wards to inspect the cleaning arrangement in the affected localities.

Shrivastava said that the BJP corporators have fully discharged their responsibility in the Assembly and lok Sabha elections and as a result, the BJP has formed Government at the Centre and the State. Keeping this spirit, they have to engage themselves from now on for the urban bodies’ elections, to be held during months of November-December this year.

“Our first priority is the forthcoming urban body elections. In view of that, it is our responsibility to hear the problems of people in the various wards and to solve them,” he said.

Srivastava asked all the party corporators to send the message in their respective wards that Mayor Dr Kiranmayi Nayak has been proved ineffective in dealing with jaundice outbreak in the city. leader of the Opposition Subhash Tiwari and Deputy leader of the Opposition Prafulla Vishwakarma also addressed the corporators.
