“A truck was burnt while oil tanks of two other trucks parked in the outskirts of Bacheli near a forested patch were set ablaze by a group of armed Naxals on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday,” Superintendent of Police (SP), Dantewada, Kamlochan Kashyap said.
Soon after the incident, as police got information about the presence of Naxals near the city, security personnel reached the spot, however, Naxals had fled by that time, the SP mentioned.
However, local sources claimed that about a dozen of trucks were damaged in the incident. According to police, the incident happened around 3 am on Wednesday.
A team of 10-12 armed Naxals were behind the incident who executed the attack and fled away before police personnel could reach the spot,” the SP said.
