A Maoist was arrested on Thursday in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. Chhanuram alias Sannu Poyam was nabbed by the District Reserve Guard from the jungles of Tumrigunda village, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari said.
He was the President of Kakawar Vikas Panchayat wing under the Indravati Area Committee of the outlawed Naxalite outfit, the official said.
He was said to be involved in several incidents of Naxalite violence.
