Chhattisgarh Police on Tuesday arrested a 49-year-old man for cheating three persons including a woman totaling Rs 17.40 lakhs on the pretext of providing a government job in 2021.
Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Urban) Abhishek Maheshwari identified him as Dinesh Manikpuri of Kabirdham district.
Manikpuri cheated Nageshwari Sahu, Dileshwar Sahu and Gulshan Sahu.
One of the victims lodged a cheating case a few days ago with the police following which Manikpuri was nabbed from Kabirdham district.
He told the police that he took Rs 6.90 lakhs from Nageshwari, Rs 6 lakhs from Dileshwar and Rs 4.50 lakhs from Gulshan in 2021, promising them jobs as data-entry operators in the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Co Ltd.
