Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday arrested a 48-year-old man for cheating 15 persons by promising them government jobs here.
Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police Abhishek Maheshwari identified him as Bhupesh Kumar Sonwani of Gariaband district.
Presently, he resides in Raja Talab locality in Raipur.
One of the complainants, Surendra Kumar Verma, lodged a cheating case.
After arrest, he confessed to cheating Verma and others. Sonwani told the police that he took the money by promising them jobs in government departments for Verma’s son and others.
