Chhattisgarh Police arrested a man and his elderly father for killing the former’s wife in 2021 in a village in Surajpur district.
Surajpur Superintendent of Police Ram Krishna Sahu identified them as Tirathram Yadav (28) and his father Rammohan Yadav (62), both residents of Biharpur village.
Tirathram Yadav had killed his wife Soni Sahu and claimed she was missing, he said.
In January last year, Yadav lodged a missing complaint regarding his wife with the police.
The police, however, learnt that Yadav had beaten Soni to death with sticks and buried her in an isolated place in nearby hills with the help of his father.
When the police detained him, he confessed he had murdered his wife suspecting her fidelity.
