The eighth phase of the malaria-free campaign will start in Chhattisgarh from June 15. It will cover 23 districts through 2,854 medical teams.

A day's workshop was organized at the New Circuit House, Raipur, for District Malaria Officers, District Leprosy Officers and District VBD (Vector-borne Diseases) counselors, an official communication said on Wednesday.

Along with the malaria campaign, leprosy control activities will also be undertaken. The officials were given the guidelines to be followed for detection and treatment of leprosy and incentives to be given to Mitanins and health workers.

The officials were asked to ensure availability of necessary medicines for malaria screening and complete treatment through RD kit and follow-up of patients after distribution of medicines.

During the campaign, necessary guidelines were given at the workshop regarding making people aware about the use and maintenance of mosquito nets.
