'Mahant day-dreaming of Congress coming to power in Chhattisgarh'

Staff Reporter

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State general secretary Shivratan Sharma on Thursday said that State Congress president Charan Das Mahant was ‘day dreaming’ of his party coming to power in Chhattisgarh.

The reality is something else, he said in a statement adding, “the people of Chhattisgarh have  seen a decade of development under Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh which had benefitted them.”

Dr Mahant should stop day dreaming on his party coming to power in Chhattisgarh which would be revealed on the day of counting of votes on December 8, Sharma said.

Also reacting to Mahant’s reported remark in Rajnandgaon that Raman Singh may get the Congress workers lathi charged after getting agitated on the day of counting of votes, Sharma said that it is clear from the reports being received that the BJP would get a massive mandate from the people of the State.

Dr Mahant had been raising unwarranted suspicion on Dr Raman Singh who has faith in the democratic process and had also set an example of respecting the Opposition, he said.
