Respite from rain related problems seemed not in sight even if almost all districts and divisions of Chhattisgarh are receiving downpour for the last couple of days as low pressure area is still existing in the Bay of Bengal and there were chances of the state receiving yet another spell of heavy downpour.

Notably, due to the incessant rains lashing the state for the last couple of days not only all the dams and reservoirs in the state are brimming up but even the fields have submerged into deep water disrupting paddy plantation activities in many areas.

Due to rivers being in spat, traffic also has gone awry on key routes with a number of areas losing links with capital.

The continuous rains have not only affected the normal life but cases of water borne diseases are also reported from many parts of the state, specially from southern districts.

Meanwhile, meteorological department officials said that the storm which was active over Bay of Bengal has turned in to a low pressure area making a trough over Chhattisgarh due to which in the next 48 hours almost all the divisions of the State including capital Raipur will receive heavy dose of downpour.
