Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said “loot” exists in the DNA of the Congress as she slammed it for its criticism of the Centre’s asset monetization pipeline scheme.
She told the media here that the Modi government’s development principle is based on empowering people.
The issue loot never goes out of the Congress mind because it was prevalent during their rule, she said.
In August, Sitharaman unveiled a National Monetisation Pipeline that included unlocking value by involving private firms across infrastructure sectors - from passenger trains and railway stations to airports, roads and stadiums.
She also took a dig at the Congress over the turmoil in its ranks in Chhattisgarh and said the party fails to deliver whenever it gets majority in the Assembly.
"(Instead of serving the people), you (CM) are sitting here and praying to god (to save your chair) ... What happened to the government here?" she asked, referring to trips of Congress MLAs to Delhi amid speculation of a possible change in the state leadership.
"We believe in the guiding principle of ‘sabka sath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas and sabka prayas’ (with all, development for all and with everyone’s trust and effort)," she said.
