Development of the country is possible if we focus on the overall development of farmers, said Member of Parliament (MP) Chandulal Sahu during the day-long Kisan Sammelan (Farmers' Convention) organised at Kergaon village under the Mouhabhata Gram Panchayat limits in the district. The Convention was organised under the aegis of Agrokates Society for Rural Development.
In his address, Sahu asked the people to take benefit of the welfare schemes of the State Government. He urged the youths to get enrolled for skill-development programmes which aim at imparting training and thereby enabling them to search for suitable employment opportunity. Collector Niranjan Das asked the farmers to adopt modern means of farming to have better crop output with less cost. He told them to take fertilizers in advance before the monsoon. Departmental stalls were installed at the venue to apprise villagers about different schemes of the State Government.
