Bio-diversity and the existing environment should be taken into consideration while preparing the drawing and design of any tourist place so as to draw tourists, Chhattisgarh's Tourism and Religious Endowment Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said on Saturday.

Reviewing the working of the tourism and religious endowment departments at his official residence, Sahu went through the detailed presentation of ‘Ram Gaman’ tourism circuit to be developed at 9 points in the first phase.

On Mata Kaushalya   temple at Chandrakhuri, the Minister said: “The existing ponds and natural beauty should be kept in mind before commencing any beautification work. Jyoti Kalash rooms should be made in a special       structure so that in less space more lamps can be accommodated."

He said that medicinal plants and fruit bearing trees should be planted around it.

“Unnecessary spending of available funds should be refrained. Instead, tourism development work should be undertaken at a minimal cost, keeping in mind the speciality and importance of the place," he said.

The Minister insisted on providing facilities for children like playing space and seating arrangements for elders.

In Chhattisgarh, under the ‘Raman Van Gaman’ tourism circuit, 9 venues have been selected where at a cost of Rs 137.45 lakh infrastructure development will be undertaken.

The selected venues are Sitamarhi-Harchouka (Koriya), Ramgarh (Surguja), Shivrinarayan (Janjgir-Champa), Turturiya (Baloda-Bazar), Chandrakhuri (Raipur), Rajim (Gariaband), Sihawa-Saptarishi Ashram (Dhamtari), Jagdalpur (Bastar) and Ramaram (Sukma).
