Jogi loyalist slammed for political conspiracy

Staff Reporter

Congress leader Shiv Kumar Dahariya on Saturday hit out at a key Ajit Jogi loyalist and legislator RK Rai for seeking arrest of his younger brother as prime suspect in the Chhachhanpairi village murder case in which his mother was brutally killed and his father critically injured last year by unidentified assailants.

Dahariya, who heads the Scheduled Caste cell of the party in Chhattisgarh, alleged that Rai’s demand was nothing but a ‘political conspiracy’ masterminded by his ‘boss’ (a clear reference to the former Chief Minister Jogi). Dahariya, while interacting with newsmen, said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had found no evidence against his brother during its investigation. He further alleged Rai was interfering in police investigation on directives of his ‘Boss’.

He charged Rai, who was seeking a CBI probe into  the murder case, had rebuffed him when he urged him to meet Chief Minister for demanding a CBI probe into the murder case earlier.

Dahariya also lashed out at Rai and said he had been booted  out from the Congress. “Rai is not a popular leader if he thinks he is a mass leader then he should step down from the post of Gunderdehi MlA and contest a fresh election,’’ Dahariya opined.
