The Chhattisgarh Junior Doctors Association (JDA) and the United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) on Wednesday asked the state government to consider their demand to hike their honorarium.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the JDA and UNDFA stated that medical students and Senior Resident doctors had raised the issue in January this year.
A memorandum was submitted after a strike which was called off on verbal assurance that the money will be increased.
But no budgetary provision was made nor a decision has been taken till date.
The letter said that amid rising prices and cost of living, not raising the honorarium was causing financial crises.
The Chief Minister was urged to fulfil the promise made regarding the honorarium hike.
