Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) senior leader and spokesperson Nitin Bhansali resigned from the party on Saturday citing “personal reasons and a few other issues.”

In a letter to the party founding chairman Ajit Jogi, Bhansali said: “Due to personal reasons and few other issues, I am tendering resignation from the post of party chief spokesperson, ex-officio core committee member, Raipur urban and rural district president and also primary membership of the party.”

Bhansali was the key spokesperson of the party and also served as one of its star campaigners.

During the 2018 state assembly election he was initially made the candidate to contest from Raipur North assembly constituency, but at the last moment he was replaced by Amar Gidwani.

When contacted, Bhansali said, “Yes, I have resigned from the primary membership of the party and all other posts held by me. There are several reasons that prompted me to quit the party. But I will not reveal the reasons now.”

On his future course of action, Bhansali said he would mull over it for the next two days before arriving at a final decision.
