Charging that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in the State breached its promises made in its last election manifesto after formation of the Government, Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) (J) workers led by Richa Jogi, daughter-in-law of the party Supremo Ajit Jogi, on Monday morning took out a ‘Padyatra’ from BJP’s State headquarters ‘Ekatma Parisar’ and marched towards Chhattisgarh State Assembly.
They were, however, intercepted near Avantibai lodhi Chowk by the police and were arrested.
The JCC (J) activists led by Richa Jogi and MlAs R.K. Roy and Siyaram Kaushik earlier assembled and staged a sit-in near Ekatma Parisar from there they took out a march towards the State Assembly.
The JCC (J) leaders alleged that the ruling BJP government had not kept its promises made in their last election manifesto regarding farmer’s issues.
So many promises were made in the manifesto but not a single promise had been fulfilled, they charged.
