Making headway in the case of a Shikshakarmi’s fake recruitment recorded in Mainpur block in 2007, police on Friday arrested a Janpad Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district, police said.
In connection with fake recruitment of Shikshakarmis, police have arrested the then CEO of Mainpur Janpad Panchayat K S Marco, police said, adding that the officer was presently posted as CEO of Chura Janpad Panchayat.
A case has been registered by police in this regard under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged), 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC), said police, adding that further investigation in the case is on. The accused officer has been produced in a local court from where he was sent to judicial custody, added police sources.
It may be recalled that in connection with fake recruitment of Shikshakarmi which came to light in 2007, Collector Niranjan Das has dismissed as many as 83 shikshakarmis so far.
