A Jan Militia member surrendered before Inspector General, CRPF, DP Upadhyay in the insurgency infested Dantewada district, a police officer informed on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Dantewada, Kamlochan Kashyap informed that Ajay Kumar Mandavi resident of (19) resident of Patelpara under Katekalyan police station surrender with a banner poster, Naxal literature, fire crackers and a pipe.
Mandavi had joined Naxal outfit in year 2012 as member of Katekalyan Area Committee. He used to throw pamphlets and keep tab on movement of police teams.
The insurgent also used to burst fire crackers for diverting the attention of police force in order to facilitate safe passage for the other Naxals, the SP said.
“He was upset with the Maoist strategy of hindering the development in Bastar region and also exploitation of villagers,” the SP stated.
Mandavi will be rehabilitated as per schemes run by the State Government and we will also try to get benefits of Government schemes for him, the SP said.
