State president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and candidate from Khallari Assembly constituency, Satish Jaggi, along with his mother Gulshan Jaggi, on Wednesday met DGP Ramniwas and demanded additional security for him. The DGP assured security to the whole Jaggi family.
In the letter submitted to the DGP, Satish’s mother Gulshan Jaggi said that her son is fighting Assembly election from Khallari constituency. In the 2003 Assembly election, under political conspiracy, her husband Ram Awatar Jaggi had been murdered.
She alleged that powerful political leader was involved in the murder case and all of them are on bail at present.
She said that in view of the present political situation, she had written letter to the Superintendent of Police, Mahasamund, to provide guaranteed security arrangement, but the SP expressed his incapability.
She said that looking to the present electoral atmosphere; threat is looming large over her family. The Union Home Ministry, in a letter written to the Chhattisgarh police, has instructed to provide additional security to Satish Jaggi. A copy of the letter has been given to the DGP.
