Sensing the intentions of divisive forces trying to mislead the Indian youth, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has decided to conduct meetings, seminars and other programmes to make the youth aware of the ill-intentions of such forces.
The issues related to national integrity and security were discussed in the 60th national conference of ABVP held recently at Jalandhar, said ABVP State secretary Rohit Maheshwari on Saturday.
Talking to mediapersons here, Maheshwari said that incidents like waving of ISIS flags and wall writing in support of ISIS in Kashmir and Assam, participation of four youths of Maharashtra in Iraq war, youths wearing T-shirts with ISIS name printed on it during religious procession in Jharkhand, VISA demand by a large number of people of a specific community, hints the developing network of ISIS in India.
He said that in the conference that it was demanded from the Central Government and State Governments to suppress such activities by dealing strictly with such elements.
“ABVP will try to guide the youths through seminars and meetings and make them aware of the ill intentions of such organisation trying to misguide them,” said Maheshwari. He said that ABVP is also of the opinion that the Central Government should carry out effective campaign in association with State Governments against insurgents.
Maheshwari further said the State Working Committee of ABVP was announced during the national conference. Ashutosh Mandavi is the State president, Raju Mahant, Prashant Tiwari and Dr Govardhan Bhatt are the vice-presidents, Bhupendra Nag is State secretary and Tekeshwar Jain is State secretary (organisation). Surendra Sahu is representing Chhattisgarh in the national body as secretary, said Maheshwari.
